Taghazout
A laid-back surf village on the Souss coast — point breaks, argan hills, and a proper sunset every evening.
Taghazout was a sleepy fishing village until surfers discovered its point breaks in the 1960s, and it's kept much of that unhurried character even as surf schools and cafés have multiplied along its one steep main street. The waves are the draw, but the argan-covered hills behind the village and the wide, quiet beaches either side make it worth a visit even if you never pick up a board.
I usually recommend it as a coastal wind-down after the mountains or the desert — mornings in the water or on a longboard lesson, afternoons doing very little at all, which after two weeks on the road is exactly what most guests want.
