Mirleft sits on a low headland between Sidi Ifni and Agadir, its whitewashed town rising above a run of small, quiet beaches and coves. It has long attracted a particular kind of traveller — those who come for a week and stay a month — drawn by the relaxed pace, the mild winter climate, and beaches with far fewer people than anywhere closer to Agadir.

There is a genuine, unforced calm to the place: mornings spent walking the coastal path between coves, afternoons watching paragliders drift off the clifftops when conditions allow, evenings over simple grilled fish as the light goes gold over the Atlantic. It is not a place built around a single big sight — it rewards guests happy to slow down and let a few quiet days do the work.

Walk the coastal path between the coves rather than driving between them — Mirleft is best seen at walking pace. — M.

Catch the Atlantic swell

Morning point breaks and argan hills on the laid-back coast at Taghazout.

Quiet cove beaches

A string of small, uncrowded beaches beneath the cliffs — Sauvage and Aftas among the best known.

The coastal walking path

An easy clifftop path links several coves and viewpoints — the best way to see the town's stretch of coast.

Paragliding off the headlands

When conditions allow, the clifftops here are a known local spot for paragliding above the Atlantic.

The old kasbah quarter

A small hilltop kasbah and whitewashed lanes give the town centre its own quiet charm above the coves.

How Mirleft fits your journey

Mirleft sits naturally between Agadir and Legzira/Sidi Ifni on the southern coast road — an easy overnight to break the drive, or a longer stay for guests who want a genuinely slow week by the sea.

Long-stay culture: Mirleft has a well-established community of long-stay European travellers, especially over winter — expect a relaxed, familiar atmosphere.
Pace: There is no single must-see sight — the town rewards a slow two or three days over a rushed half-day stop.
