Taghazout gets the name recognition, but Tamraght is where a lot of the same coastline gets lived rather than photographed. The village sits a few minutes south along the same stretch of Souss coast, wedged between the water and terraces of banana plants, and it has grown into its own quiet scene of surf schools, yoga terraces and long-stay guesthouses without losing the fishing-village bones underneath.
This is where I send guests who want the surf-coast lifestyle without the crowds at the main Taghazout breaks — mellow beginner-friendly waves close to the village, a slower pace in the evenings, and enough good coffee and tagine stalls that nobody goes hungry. Give it three or four days minimum; the point of Tamraght is settling in, not ticking it off.
