Imsouane still runs on fish more than tourism, and that is exactly its appeal. The blue boats come in at the small port each morning, the catch goes straight to the grills along the harbour, and around the headland a wave known simply as "the Bay" peels for what surfers routinely describe as one of the longest rides in Africa — a gentle, forgiving right-hander that has made the village a magnet for longboarders without yet turning it into a resort.
North of the bay, a second, punchier beach break called Cathedral Point draws a different crowd. Between sessions there is little to do but eat grilled fish, watch the boats, and let the day slow down — which, after the more built-up stretches of coast further north, can feel like exactly the point.
